Seen By Persephone Welcomes You

Artist. Visionary. Futurist. Compassion Generator.

Fine Art is both a universal language and a deeply personal language. This is one of the reasons it is so compelling.
The work of Seattle-based artist, Persephone, and her brand, Seen By Persephone, has been known to freshly envision artistic boundaries. Persephone explores the eternal question, “Where do the lines of Fine Art begin and where do these lines intersect with life?” For it seems the two are inextricably linked and constantly intersect. Viewing Fine Art makes the soul sing, but equally watching a soul sing, can inspire a new work on canvas. Truly Fine Art is life and life is Fine Art.
Persephone loves to create canvases that expand upon how Fine Art is created.  Persephone has been known to paint outside, in 20 degree weather, if the Muses pay her a visit. Persephone sometimes paints with her index fingers, uses watercolor and acrylics on the same canvas, and plays with different styles on the same canvas.
Persephone has been painting, drawing, photographing everyday life for 30 years. Her parents bought her a professional camera for her 5th birthday. Her work is informed by her travels to 23 countries and the art of those cultures.
Persephone has also been influenced by her visits to The Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Louvre and Musee D’Orsay in Paris, and the Tate Gallery in London. Persephone’s art has equally been influenced by her visits to Temples in rural India, the murals on the ceilings of 9th century churches still present in Istanbul, Turkey.  Persephone is always experimenting with new styles. Like life, Fine Art is fluid, flowing, and changing. Persephone strives to be in that flow.
